Manchester City’s Enzo Maresca recently addressed speculation surrounding Victor Osimhen and the club’s pursuit of a striker before the transfer deadline. Speaking candidly, Maresca emphasized that City is focused on signing players only under their specific conditions.
“We want players, but we wanted a player that we decide it has to be on our conditions. If a player is not here, then it was not,” Maresca explained, signaling the club’s unwillingness to compromise.
The club had been linked with Napoli’s Osimhen, but a deal failed to materialize. Despite the disappointment from fans eager for a marquee signing, Maresca hinted that their search for a striker isn’t over yet.
When asked about the possibility of a new striker in January, he added, “We will see,” keeping the door open for future signings while reinforcing the club’s patient approach.
For now, City appears content to bide their time, ensuring that any future signings align with the club’s vision and strategy.
