Police Kill Suspected Terrorist In Imo, Rescue Four Others

The police in Imo State say operatives from the command’s anti-kidnapping Unit (Tiger Base) have killed a suspected terrorist in an operation that led to the dismantling of a suspected IPOB/ESN terrorist and kidnapping syndicate in the state.

Spokesperson of the command, ASP Henry Okoye disclosed this in a short statement on his official X handle on Saturday.

According to the SP Okoye, the intelligence-led operation by the police was carried out in collaboration with military personnel on October 4, 2024, in Ezioha, Mbaitoli Local Government Area.

According to the statement, four persons kidnapped along Orlu Road on September 29, 2024, were rescued by the operatives.

“The operation led to the neutralization of one suspected terrorist and the safe rescue of four individuals abducted along Orlu Road on September 29, 2024,” the statement reads.

“The rescued victims include Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Nwosu, of Ohi in Mbaitolu LGA, and two others.”
